Safety in Transportation

HOCL supplies Phenol and Acetone in bulk and packed forms  on exfactory basis. In the case of Hydrogen peroxide, HOCL supplies on exfactory basis where customers have their own facilities for transportation. Where customers do not have own facilities for transportation, HOCL supplies Hydrogen peroxide in bulk on delivered to destination basis. In packed form, Hydrogen peroxide is supplied only on exfactory basis.

Phenol, Acetone and Hydrogen peroxide are hazardous chemical products. The nature of the hazards is given below

Considering the hazardous nature of the products, safety in transportation needs to be ensured.

Customers are expected to be aware of the legal aspects of handling hazardous substances and make arrangements for safe transportation of these products from HOCL to destination wherever supply is on exfactory basis. Wherever customers need any guidance on this, HOCL shall provide the same on request.

Customers may engage transport contractors who are well experienced in the transportation of the applicable products. Customers may kindly go through the statutory requirements for transportation of hazardous substances, particularly the Central Motor Vehicles Act, Petroleum Act and Public Liability Insurance Act. Transporter may be instructed to conduct safety audit of the vehicle before loading product in them. Only vehicles in well maintained condition must be placed at HOCL.

Customers, while executing contracts with transporters, may insist that all the legal provisions of these Acts and any other Acts and Rules that apply are complied strictly by the transporter. Customers may ensure that they engage only capable transporters who are aware of the legal aspects of transportation of hazardous substances. HOCL Fire and Safety department shall arrange safety training for transporters at HOCL training center periodically.
